The Story Behind This Tea

In 1939, during the wartime, Dian Hong was first crafted as Chinese tea merchants braved the ancient Tea Horse Road — crossing treacherous mountain passes from Yunnan through Myanmar to reach international markets. Every cup carries the unyielding spirit of those tea makers from 80 years ago.

The Story Behind This Tea

Keemun is the birthplace of ancient Huizhou culture — where “qin, qi, shu, hua, shi, jiu, cha” (the Seven Refinements of life: music, chess, calligraphy, painting, poetry, wine, and tea) were born. Since 1875, Keemun red tea has been the confidant of scholars and literati, a companion at the writing desk.

Born in Tongmu Village at the heart of the Wuyi Mountains, Unsmoked Lapsang Souchong is the ancestor of all red tea — with over 400 years of history. Along the Nine-Bend River, tea trees grow in the crevices of Danxia rock formations, each leaf absorbing the spiritual energy of mountain and water.
